UGS 303. First-Year Signature Course With Profs Reddick and Thompson

Last week I had the great opportunity to sit in on an undergrad course UGS 303 by Professors Richard Reddick and Lisa B Thompson. This course focuses on developing podcast content and evaluating information for the creation of a podcast and the pitch the students would need to make to get someone to help fund their podcasts.
What a fun experience and I got to meet with some of our many talented undergraduate first year students. Thanks also to Michele Ostrow, one of our many talented UT Librarians, who was giving the class a lesson on evaluating information. This class was so inspirational to me because I could interact with many of our undergraduate students. I was so happy to see so many curious minds being engaged with our library resources. This lecture really made me think of the concepts of library as teaching infrastructure that were espoused in the mid part of the 20th Century by librarians like Ralph Ellsworth.
